Recovering from Surgery

Yesterday I had surgery. Again. Now I have to go through lengthy recovery. Again. A 2-month 'break' (yikes) from normalcy.

But I do not want to let it go to waste, like I was guilty of during the majority of the pandemic and my last post-surgery (the last 2-3 months). It is my opportunity, to start a trajectory from low to high through all of 2024 and beyond.

After I got the news from my doctors, I had an appointment with our campuses' education assistant, and we talked about how I could use the time better to progress in my projects. Since I was inhibited most of the time between October and last week, I only had the chance to finish the first project of the 42 cursus and do so without the bonus.

I froze my cursus until the 28th of march, since that is the approximate time I will be able to return to campus and also the last day of the last Piscine of this batch. 65 days, to go from broken study habits and a broken body, to a recovered and lively learner.

42 cursus goals

In the following, I listed all projects I will complete or study and how long I will take to do so.

- libft bonus (3d)
- printf (7d)
- gnl (10d)
- pipex (14d)
- study minitalk (3d)
- push_swap (14d)
- study born2beroot, exam (14d)

On the 23rd of February, I will have a session with our education assistant and we will chat about my progress.

Other goals

I will complete Mosse Institute's Introduction to Cyber Security as my first step in my cybersecurity roadmap.

As I will swap my degree from engineering and computer science to cybersecurity by April 1st, I will write 2 last exams @ htw and prepare for my first semester courses @ bht.

I also will improve my web development skills by working on the odin project.

- foundations (10d)
- intermediate html & css (10d)
- javascript (25d)
- advanced html & ccs (10d)
- setup react and start path (10d)

My final commitment is towards mental health. I will journal and/or blog daily and work my way through drk's guide to mental health.

Outlook

In a bit more than two months, I will have set an important foundation for my further studies and general life. I will be able to adhere to my study goals while maintaining mindfulness. I also will be able to start working out physically again and tend more to my social and relationship needs.

Beneath I outlined my aspired educational path in the coming months and couple years.
